G’day, I’m Helen.
I’m a wife, mum and farmer… but most of the time you’ll find me happily barefoot with a cuppa as I work as an artist and surface pattern designer in my studio at Fig Hill Farm!
For me, my work is all about being wildly inspired by our beautifully rugged, surprising and diverse Australia, and creating connections with it’s people.
My style is organic, warm, playful and naturally Australian.
Genuine and generous.
Working with me means stepping away from run-of-the-mill patterns and designs and choosing boutique art made thoughtfully, especially with your customers in mind.
It means creating something organically that you and your customers will connect with that is uniquely YOU.
Something that also makes my style a bit different from a lot of other artists is that I like to design FROM SCRATCH. Although I can design digital art for you if you wish, my niche is definitely creating organically from pencil and pigment on paper!
I get excited about learning all about you and your brand story, and turning it into bespoke art that is a direct reflection of your heart. I get excited to see your customers rushing to buy your products because your brand has that extra special something.

Let’s work together! Bring your dreams and your unique brand vibe and I’ll bring authentic, hand painted artworks designed and made from scratch to elevate your products.
The result: A very special pattern or illustration for your products that you will absolutely LOVE and that will make your brand STAND OUT!
Remember- you have something powerful when you present your customers with a REAL story behind your products. I can help you build customer trust in a BIG WAY by providing clips and photos of the process work.

How it works

First up, it’s all about YOU! I want to know all about you because the best result comes when the artist and the brand align with each other and are fizzing with excitement about creating something special together. I’m all about being completely on the same page as you and understanding your brand vibe. So the first step is having a chat (via emails, messages, phone calls or whatever suits you best) and hearing all about your vison and dream design here. You may even wish to provide me with a mood board!

Next step is to get sorted with a contract which outlines the process and cost. After getting to know what you’d like, I will be able to talk to you about the cost of my services. I will also ask for a 50% deposit and we can also talk here about a time frame for the work to be completed by.

This is the part where I get busy! I’ll take all of your ideas and dream about them, draw them, work out a colour palette, paint them, digitalise them and create them into a beautiful repeat pattern, placement print or single design that you can use on your products! I will keep you updated throughout the process to make sure it’s what you’re hoping for.

I will now present you with your wonderful design! This is your chance to review the design and let me know if you’d like me to make any changes. If there are any changes to be made, I’ll go ahead and complete them. You will then have one more chance to review the design for me to make any final changes. (This is usually more than enough opportunity to perfect your design, but after this I’m still happy to make extra changes on an hourly fee basis.)

Finally, I will send you an invoice for the remainder of the payment and a licensing agreement for you to sign. This agreement allows you to use the design EXCLUSIVELY (it won’t be licensed to anyone else) for the agreed amount of time. After all this stuff is done, I get to send you your beautiful new design! Yay!!
If you would like, I am also happy to send you a ‘branding package’ with your new design. These are a few helpful marketing and social media content tools like my logo that you are free to use when you market your product. I can even include process work photos and short videos. This way, your customers can see how special and bespoke the process has been as you have chosen to work with an Aussie artist!
